€/t is an illustrative comparison (fixed 2026 reference FX, kg × 1,000). Always cite the published figure on the country page.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the searches that usually land people on this page — with links into the data.

What does packaging EPR cost in France?+

France publishes a full statutory household-packaging grid (Citeo / Adelphe / Léko). Open the France country page for the core materials and the detailed tariff rows — including eco-modulation bonuses and maluses.

France packaging rates →
Why does Germany have no EPR tariff in the table?+

Germany has no statutory €/kg table. Producers register in LUCID and licence with a competing dual system; per-kilogram fees stay in each system’s calculator. The Germany page lists authorised systems and the few published annual entry or minimum prices we can cite — never a national material tariff.

Germany explained →
Who needs an authorised representative?+

Many countries require a local authorised representative (or equivalent) when a producer has no establishment in that market — especially for distance sellers. The fixed-costs table lists representative rules and thresholds country by country.

Fixed costs →
Are the fees per kilogram or per tonne?+

Both. Some schemes publish per kg, others per tonne. The overview default converts everything to illustrative €/t (kg × 1,000 and a fixed FX). Always cite the published unit on the country page.

How current are these figures?+

Each country page shows a verified “as of” date from the source we last checked. The overview and PRO scrapes also rotate; treat this as a research reference and confirm against the official source before you file or invoice.

Notes

  • The comparison table converts published rates to illustrative €/t. Country pages always show the original currency and unit.
  • Some schemes publish per kilogram, others per tonne. The €/t table multiplies kg rates by 1,000 and applies a fixed FX — always cite the published figure on the country page.
  • Where a value is converted for the illustrative comparison, the rate used is a fixed, approximate 2026 reference rate — not a live exchange rate — and is never the figure to cite.

Data provenance

EPR Worldwide publishes packaging and related producer fees as a research reference. Every core figure is taken from the official tariff sheet, law or scheme document of the organisation responsible in that country — not from a secondary fee aggregator.

Countries organise producer responsibility differently. Where a national grid exists, we show it. Where only competing schemes publish their own lists, we label those figures as market references. Where nothing public exists, the table says so instead of inventing a national rate.
